The Simple Formula That Will Let You Get Whatever You Want In Life

When it comes down to it, if you want to reach any goal in life, it only takes 3 core actions:

  1. Practice (Doing it )
  2. Growth (Pushing your comfort zone continuously)
  3. Persistence (Sticking to it long enough )

I call this the PGP® formula.

This is a simple, no-fail, method that has been demonstrated through the experience of countless of individuals throughout history to get you WHATEVER you desire in life.

Let’s say, you want to get all buffed up like a pro-bodybuilder.

First of all, you have to go to the gym and work out.

This is the practice phase.

No work out, no big muscles.

You have to pay the price in advance and take some sort of action that will get you closer to the goal on a daily basis if you ever plan to reach it.

Secondly, you have to push your comfort zone all the time.

In bodybuilding, you do this by increasing the intensity of your workout by doing such things as adding extra weight to the bar, changing your exercises around, limiting the amount of rest between sets, etc. otherwise, you simply will not grow (When it comes to bodybuilding, I mean this literally).

Lastly, you have to do it for long enough to actually reap the results.

I’m sure you understand that working out only once or twice a year will NOT get you buffed up.

The funny thing is that while most people would agree with me on the example above, they still do not understand why they aren’t as good as they know they should be at the things they are truly passionate about.

Let’s be proactive.

Pick a part of life that you’re not happy with right now and ask yourself the following questions:

1) Have you been taking action on it on a daily basis?

Let’s say your goal is to become a rock star.

Are you doing something related to it every day? Do you have a band? How many shows have you scheduled? Are you visiting coffee shops? Playing in the park for passers-by?

You get the picture.

After you ask yourself that, there comes question #2:

2) Have you been pushing your comfort zone lately?

Following the rock star motif… Have you learned any new songs in the past 5 days? Written any new music? How about that demo tape—spoken to anyone about how to get it done? Looked at studios? Learned any new scales? Improved your chops?


3) Are you willing to stick to it and do whatever it takes until you get some sort of result you’re happy with?

…Even if it takes being a “starving artist” for a couple of years?


I absolutely hate the term “starving artist.” I think that toxic belief has killed millions of dreams and robbed society of what could potentially have been some of its greatest contributors.

Not only does it not make any sense at all when you get to the core of it, but after being in the business world for a while, I’m amazed at how many “starving X’s” are everywhere.

I’m glad to be friends with many “starving psychologists, reporters, social workers, teachers, and even a law school sophomore or two…”

I’ve also met a lot of starving people within fields that they’re not passionate about at all… Are you one of them?

Why did I bring that up and what does this have to do with the topic though?

Well, because you have to understand that before you get good at anything, you’re going to, well…not be as good for a while.

Skill development takes time and you might spend YEARS to learn (and be able to apply) what it takes to get the results you desire.

This is where persistence comes in.

You truly can get whatever you desire in life.

All you have to do is 1) Take action on a daily basis (“Do it”), 2) Push your comfort zone, and 3) Stick to it until it pays off.
